On the second week of October 2023 (Tuesday 10 – Thursday 12) the FORGING Consortium will deliver a series of workshops tackling the six technological frameworks at the core of the project.

Guided by STAM, the workshops will allow participants to reflect and further investigate not only on the technologies resulting from a first desk analysis, but alsoto define new ones, while engaging with other experts through cross-fertilization activities.

How far do emerging technologies match the expectations and forecasts of the experts? Which are the challenges – be they economic, legal, or environmental – that should be overcome in order to fully implement those upcoming technologies?

To answers these questions and many others, the technological frameworks have been grouped into three couples, according to the thematic affinity:

  1. First couple: “Cyber safe data transmission, storage and analysis technologies” + “Artificial Intelligence”
  2. Second couple: “Human centric solutions and human machine interactions” + “Bio inspired technologies and smart materials.”
  3. Third couple: “Technologies for energy efficiency and trustworthy autonomy” + “Real time-based digital twin and simulations”

Thus, each of the three days is dedicated to one single couple, allowing the experts to engage with the FORGING methodology and to leverage on the concept of Industry 5.0 and its relation to the societal changes.

Overall, hosting the workshop at the European Commission DG Connect premises will both benefit the networking and growthof the FORGING forum; and it will spur the relation of the project with the European context.
