FORGING’s most recent workshop series on emerging enabling technologies drew to a close, and what a great success it was!
On Friday, March 8th, one last Technology Clustering Workshop was held to discuss the integration of value-sensitive considerations in the development of breakthrough technologies that might help address grand challenges like greening and digitalization.
This time, the FORGING innovation journey took us to an interesting debate about Real-time Based Digital Twins and Simulation. More specifically, the topics of interest were:
- Predictive Maintenance
- Cognitive Digital Twins
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Enterprise Building Information Modeling (EBIM)
The workshop goal was to first identify evaluating criteria to assess such technologies, and then to create a cluster of the technological portfolio through a co-creation process. Once again, environmental and societal implications of the technologies’ market-uptake were at the very core of the process, based on a human-centered approach.
Attendance was high from Industry 5.0 European experts and practitioners, who had the opportunity to collect and share valuable insights, knowledge, and good practices. Furthermore, FORGING partners presented an overview of the latest achieved results:
- The Perspective Cards served as unique tool to generate empathy towards different stakeholders’ perspectives that may arise when tackling socio-environmental impacts of a specific emerging technology.
- The Strategic Matrix was key to associate the technologies to their potential target application areas.
Although the workshop marked the end of this series of events, our innovation journey is certainly not over yet. New opportunities to shape the future of technological innovation together are underway!
Stay tuned for future events and do not miss the chance to be at the forefront of European innovation.
