The bio-inspired materials webinar that took place on 23 January 2025, gathered more than 15 participants, coming from all over Europe.

We heard about 3 very interesting and informative interventions from different EU speakers – Poland, Latvia and Greece – who shared their perspective and experience in the field of smart materials:

  • Marcin Wątrobiński (Founder & CEO of Cyberbone)
  • Raivis Nikitins (CCO of NACO)
  • Chrysoula Chandrinou (Senior Researcher fo PhosPrint)

Here are some key points from the discussion:

  • Application across various industries such as health, energy and automative but also many others
  • Regulation can at the same time be positive to build trust but also can create barriers. Regulation can be complexe and there is a need to have a “regulatory expert” that supports the process and understands the products, to best guide which regulations to rely on
  • Bio-inspired technologies are addressing societal health needs/ public utility – tissue regeneration – and also energy transition aspects – hydrogen.
