On 17 June 2025, FORGING was showcased during the latest edition of the European Commission’s Knowledge Valorisation Talks, titled Great Research – What Now? and focused on strategies to bring scientific results closer to the market. The panel was a great opportunity to present the project’s innovative co-creation methodology to shape concrete use-cases for emerging enabling technologies of Industry 5.0.

Our partner APRE illustrated the three-canvas approach that facilitated the co-creation of use-cases through the dedicated workshop series Novel Enabling Technologies for a Sustainable Future: (1) identifying a pressing human or societal challenge, (2) matching it with one or more relevant emerging technologies, and (3) framing a concrete, human-centric solution. This methodology reflects the core principles of Industry 5.0, prioritising responsible innovation, and aligns strongly with the event’s focus on turning excellent research into impactful, market-relevant outcomes.

The event also served as a platform to highlight FORGING’s success in involving over 320 stakeholders from academia, industry, policymaking, and civil society in a value-sensitive innovation journey that integrates social and environmental considerations from the earliest stages of technology design.
