The webinar series “Shaping a more responsible future with tech” kicked off with the first topic being Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Great success! 24 participants, coming from all over Europe, attended the webinar that took place on 19 November 2024. We had the opportunity to hear 3 interesting presentations from different speakers sharing their best practices and key achievements in their work in relation to AI and how they contribute to a more sustainable future:

Here are some key takeaways from the discussion:

  • All 3 start-ups where launched on the basis of a personal experience – as a solution to existing societal problems (security, health) or aimed at populations which are not necessarily natural “early tech adopters” (craftsmen) – the Human is at the heart of the development
  • There is always a human who makes the decision – AI is not replacing the Humans but enhancing them and it can also address environmental challenges, e.g. the solution offers high energy savings in comparison to existing other products
  • EU Regulations such as the AI Act help to provide added-value solutions, as going through the regulatory steps shows compliance and thus enhances trust – this is an advantage when addressing potential clients
  • Information and education is key and it is important to bring all players on board, including society, but especially the groups which will act as decision makers using AI-facilitated solutions/products
