We are excited to announce the successful completion of our latest workshop series, Novel Enabling Technologies for a Sustainable Future! The final workshop, organised by APRE, in Madrid (Spain), on 30-31 January 2025, and focused on Technologies for Energy Efficiency and Trustworthy Autonomy, was yet another unique chance for knowledge exchange and co-creation of innovative solutions.
The event kicked off with an introductory overview of the FORGING project and its key results to date, followed by an inspiring keynote speech from Dr. Francesco Reda of VTT – Technical Research Centre of Finland (a member of the project consortium). Later on the first day, four participants pitched their research and use cases in the energy sector during an engaging and interactive final session.
On day two, attendees participated in a dynamic co-creation exercise, split into four working groups. Each team co-created an innovative use case for a technological solution designed to meet human needs in a sustainable, responsible, and human-centric way. This collaborative effort resulted in four brilliant use cases spanning three sectors: energy storage and provision systems, buildings and construction, and mobility.
The event brought together diverse expertise, and just like the previous ones, it sparked collaborative insights which will help shape the future of the EU innovation ecosystem. We are thankful to all those who participated and look forward to continued collaboration towards a more sustainable future!
