The International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) is the only entity in the world with legal status as an intergovernmental organisation dedicated to Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies recognised by the United Nations. Founded in 2006 following a joint agreement between the governments of Portugal and Spain, it currently houses more than 400 people of 35 nationalities and diverse scientific backgrounds.
At INL, interdisciplinarity plays a vital role. Researchers, engineers, business experts, financial managers, communicators, and more are all committed towards a common goal – to contribute to a better world through nano-enabled emerging technologies.
The INL coordinates a vast network of partnerships worldwide with industries and actors in the Research and Development sphere and is also involved in various innovation actions at the service of the European Union.
